Non-resource revenues and the resource curse in different institutional structures: The DIGNAR-MTFF model

Numerous studies have examined the resource curse using different perspectives. This study investigates how occurs in three countries with institutional structures a new model. The DIGNAR-MTFF model introduced and presented this article is combination of DIGNAR FMM-MTFF includes consistent framework for industrial production, inflow intermediate goods, public investment inefficiencies, learning-by-doing externalities foreign goods sectors, absorptive capacity constraints. In research, Input-Output Table data Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Norway 2015 been used. A simplified three-sector version table compares model's output countries. used under specific scenario oil revenue cycles. results country structure characterized by high dependence on revenues, show that effects abundant resources non-resource incomes are severely negative indicating Arabia experienced Dutch disease more intensity. was less severe which broader tax systems based structures. role an efficient system overcoming natural resources' cycles independence economies from these thus avoiding curse.
